3.26 Intellectual Property
Minnesota West Community & Technical College has not finalized a formal Intellectual Property policy. Minnesota West complies with the guidelines outlined in the applicable Minnesota State policy statement below:
The Minnesota State Board of Trustees endeavors to develop and maintain a post-secondary educational system marked by academic excellence. Research and development of original works and inventions that require intellectual property protection are a vital part of the academic community. The Board of Trustees recognizes and acknowledges that Minnesota State institutions may create or commission the creation of such works on its behalf and adopts as its policy the traditional commitment to faculty and student ownership in scholarly work.
