Tips for applying: If you plan to attend our Luverne Center or online only:

  • Luverne applicants should apply via the Pipestone Campus.
  • Distance Delivery nursing applicants should apply via the Worthington Campus.
  • Online applicants should apply to "Online location" not a campus location.

You will receive a confirmation e-mail within 24-hours after submitting your online application. Following the e-mail confirmation, a letter from Minnesota West will arrive within two weeks of your submission.

Send Minnesota West Your College Transcript(s)

If you are transferring from a school outside the Minnesota State System, you will need to request and submit an official transcript from your previous college.

Transcripts from any Minnesota State institution are automatically received when you apply. Transcripts are evaluated for credit and prerequisite completion.

Hard copy official transcripts can be directly mailed to the admissions address below:

Meet With An Advisor

Schedule a Meeting

Your Student Services Advisor will review your previous transcript and ensure correct course placement, assist in class registration and guide you to complete any additional paperwork.

Paying for College

Apply for financial aid grants or loans, work study,  scholarships, and additional options like Nelnet Payment Plan to help pay for tuition, fees and books.

Foundation Scholarship applications are open twice a year.

Financial Aid  offers grants or loans through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or MN Dream Act to help pay for tuition. 


Will my courses transfer?

You can receive a tentative evaluation using Transferology.

Transferology is a nationwide network designed to help students and advisors explore their course and credit transfer options and is available at no cost to all Minnesota State students.
