Leave of Absence/Withdrawal from College
Leave of Absence
A student who has legitimate reasons for missing an extended number of classes may ask for a leave of absence. A request for a leave of absence must be written and:
-
Must include specific starting and ending dates.
-
Must not exceed thirty (30) school days.
-
Must be approved by an advisor and or/the Campus Administrator.
-
Must not require the student to pay any charges to the school for the leave period.
-
Must not require the student to repeat any class time.
-
Must not be granted more than once in a twelve (12) month period.
Note: If a student who has been granted a leave of absence does not return to class at the end of the leave, the student’s withdrawal date is the first date of the leave. Consequently, no financial aid will be disbursed during the period. Request forms are available in the Student Services office.
Withdrawal from College
The final date for official course withdrawal is the last day on which students may
officially terminate their enrollment in a course, and shall be the date on which
eighty percent (80%) of the days in the academic semester have elapsed. For courses
not on a standard academic semester schedule, the final date for official course withdrawal
shall be established as the date on which eighty percent (80%) of the instructional
days for the course have elapsed.
Note: The College reserves the right to administratively withdraw students for student code
of conduct violations. Students who have been administratively withdrawn will be notified
by the Campus Administrator.
