Governor Walz declares October "Careers in Energy" month
October 2, 2023 – Minnesota is recognizing the importance of energy awareness and promoting careers in the energy sector.
The Office of Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Flanagan delivered a proclamation that declares September 28, 2023, as Careers in Energy Month in the state of Minnesota. This proactive approach not only raises awareness about energy-related issues but also helps in developing a skilled and knowledgeable workforce to support the state's energy needs and contribute to economic diversification.
The involvement of organizations like the Minnesota State Energy Center of Excellence
and Minnesota Energy Consortium is crucial in building a strong energy community for
our utilities, state colleges and universities, state agencies, unions, and community
organizations.
Such collaboration can lead to innovative solutions, research opportunities, and workforce
development in the field of energy.
Minnesota West has a wide range of energy degree programs, such as biodiesel, ethanol, fossil fuels, natural gas, power line transmission, solar, and wind, which reflects the state's commitment to embracing diverse energy sources and technologies.
These efforts in Minnesota demonstrate a commitment to both energy education and sustainable energy practices, which are crucial for the state's future energy security and economic growth.
